Nai Chen Huang: Building a Sino-Malaysian Culture and Education Bridge
In 2013, under the leadership of Mr. Nai Chen Huang, the Peking University Malaysian Alumni Association was formally established. Mr. Nai serves as its president.
He reaches out to Peking University alumni in Malaysia to strengthen contact and exchange with their alma mater. He coordinates enrollment drives and educational activities in Malaysia, and helps promote cultural and academic exchange between Malaysia and China.
In 1995, he went to study at the Peking University School of Economics. He kept an old soldier’s bag he bought from the Panjiayuan antique market in Beijing by his side during the four years of his undergraduate studies.
Speaking on campus life at Peking University, he said: “ My strongest memory was when I turned my dorm into a tea salon. Me and my roommate, we built a little teahouse and invited our friends over. We bonded over tea with people from all over the world. We shared our different cultures and experiences, and learned from one another. My time at Beida was one of the best periods in my life.”
As the current president of the Malaysian Alumni Association of PKU, he plans to establish a foundation within the next five years to expand the influence of PKU in Malaysia, and continue to promote educational and cultural exchange between the two countries.
